The Social Room possesses a rare ambience. It is spacious, restful and presents a civilized place of gathering, conversation and relaxation against a background of superb furnishings and appointments. Ideal for evening cocktail party, with the flames of the open fireplaces on either side blazing across the room, surrounded by candles and the red lantern of Alberto Zelman directly above our period stage, with brocade curtains and a concert Steinway which over the years has hosted many international artists and offers a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies and dinner.

Come with me down to Bank Place, through a set of pillar-box red doors, and into the den of the Savage. Up the central stairwell, a totem pole of New Ireland origin marks the ascent of the stairs. At the entrance to the dining room, members’ own table napkins and holders are slotted in their personal pigeonholes. The dining room itself is considered-quite rightly-a treasure of the Club. Sir Robert Menzies influence still remains with the swinging fans or punkahs. The room for all occasions, with a central stage and piano.

Better known as the Yorick Tavern; this room commemorates the Yorick Club which was founded in 1868 and incorporated with the Savage Club in 1966. Set amongst the cellars of the Club, a room which in its earlier years was used as a haven for all our Judges for lunch. A room best suited for wine tasting or dinners. Fully equipped with its own kitchen and bar. Make it your haven.
